What is the MSAT-Ulster Exam
The MSAT-Ulster is a 2 hour and 40 minute computer based multiple-choice test run by the Australian Council for Educational Research
ACER.
It contains 3 sections:
1. Critical Reasoning (CR)
No. Q’s: 36
Time: 50 mins
This section involves comprehending and analysing information; understanding, applying, and extending ideas; drawing appropriate conclusions, and evaluating arguments. These questions use material from the humanities and social sciences.
2. Quantitative Reasoning (QR)
No. Q’s: 36
Time: 60 mins
This section involves analysis and application of information, drawing conclusions, making decisions, and solving problems. These questions use material from the mathematics and sciences.
3.Interpersonal Understanding (IU)
No. Q’s: 36
Time: 50 mins
This section involves the ability to understand and think about people. These questions are based on a scenario, dialogue or other text representing specific interpersonal situations. Using a multiple choice format, they assess your ability to identify, understand, and, where necessary, infer the thoughts, feelings, behaviour and/or intentions of the people represented in the interpersonal situations.
